Best Time to Visit Germany
German climates have a very similar characteristic climate to those in Central Europe. Typically the peak months occur between April and August and are usually very warm during this time period. Alternatively, if you wish to increase the chance of a rainy holiday, drive to the German country from July to September.
Temperatures at these times fluctuate between 68 F/20C and 86 F/30C. Germany's lower lowseason cold weather begins November with an extended duration until late March. Snow is prevalent in most places, and temperatures can drop below freezing in some parts.
Eventually snow turns into rain, which indicates that spring is coming! There are also other reasons for deciding not to go on Germany road trips in the winter.

Castles in the air
Time: 6:30 a.m. | Distance: 422 km. Start: Würzburg - End: Fussen. Best home area: Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart. Of the numerous scenic paths, Romantic Route ("Romantischen Straße" or romantic road ) is the most scenic.
The stunning landscapes and spectacular places are vividly portrayed against the majestic backdrop of Bavaria's mountains and often evade imagination. You'll become fascinated by rapid changes of scenery at Bayern, home to the infamous King Ludwig.
Berlin to Hainich National Park
This route is similar to an exhibition showcasing German highlights. Beginning with Berlin the journey begins in South Potsdam and runs for about 353 km (563 km). Second is the medieval city of Brandenburg, renowned for Gothic architecture. The most charming stop along the way is Spreewald or Spree Forest. This forest and biosphere reserve is lined with wetlands and canals.
Stuttgart to Weil am Rhein
This wonderful journey reaches part of the highly-regarded Baden wine trail and includes parts of the Black Forest. The route is 165 miles (281 km) wide and weaves through the vineyard villages of Black Forest as well as visiting the vineyards at the foot of the Upper Rhine Valley. The elegant spa town Baden and the Kaiserstuhl vineyard region are among these spectacular sights.
Koblenz – Cochem – Beilstein – Zell am Mosel – Traben Trarbach – Trier
A lovely river running around it with a towering medieval castle scattered along it and nearly vertical grapevines on the mountains. The picturesque Mosel Valley is the best route in Germany for a passionate wine lover!
Punctuated by the small but stunning Mosel River the valley essentially stretched from the small village of Kobleenz, a fairytale German village, to Trier along the shore. It is advisable to visit this breathtaking valley within a few weeks.

The German road trip
Time: 5-7 days | Distance: 1 850 km. Start: Rügen Island, Baltic Sea | End: Reicheau island Lake Constance. Seemingly endless trees line the streets that lead you into 10 states and form a dense canopy on the road. These trees were planted over 500 years ago to guide travelers and are especially beautiful during autumn.
Frankfurt to Schweigen-Rechtenbach

In Frankfurt, the route descends south to Bockenheim which is officially started on the route and plunges in the heart of the Palatine and Pfalz wine area (pictured above).
Tips for Driving in Germany
German roads are good conditions, the autobahns are toll-free, and there are excellent regional and minor roads. Although most people believe the autobahn is restricted to a certain amount of speed it has sections that limit speeds from 100 km/h to 100 km/h. When you travel to Germany you must follow this rule when you travel with a car or travel by airplane.
Koln – Frankfurt – Mespellbrunn Castle – Stuttgart – Bad Wildbad – Heidelberg – Koblenz – Eltz Castle – Rheinstein Castle – Cochem Castle – Köln
This south german tour includes a wide variety of destinations and visits many German castles in one spectacular trip. This trip starts in Cologne (Koln in Germany). It covers south-south-west. Head south towards Stuttgart before returning north towards Moschee Valley. Starting at the Koninklauer See (Boden) and traversing the varied and stunning Bayerischer Landschaft towards the Koningssee, following Alps from West to East the Deutsche Alpenstrasse is simply spectacular and is among the greatest attractions. Located in South Germany' s oldest tourist route, the route offers a variety of beautiful villages, mountains and lakes.
Frankfurt – Steinau – Marburg – Kassel – Gottingen – Hamelin – Bremen
It is technically not an airport-bound trip from Frankfurt, but Frankfurt is an excellent spot to travel and buy a car. If you are staying in town, take a walk on the South Bank to see the diverse variety of restaurants, bars and clubs.
The Fairytale Route officially begins at Steinaueran der Straße, where the Grimm Brothers resided until they reached 12 years. The surroundings have resembled fairy tales with typical half-timber houses, twisting cobbled alleyways and the turreted Schloss Steinaus with views over the entire city.
Frankfurt – Munich – Cologne – Munster – Hanover – Frankfurt
If it is not clear what to do but you have some time. First, do you consider taking an overnight drive to Germany? It will take you past or near some of Germany's most beautiful cities including fairytale castles, towns, famous landmarks, breathtaking rivers and vineyards.
You will travel amazing roads and if you don't take the autobahn you will relax and enjoy the constantly changing scenery of this surprisingly beautiful country.
Hanover to Hanover
This trip is called the Asparagus Route, although the stunning surroundings can appeal, even if one does not like the spears. Lower Saxony is the hub for asparagus cultivation in Germany and the loop covers about 460 km of townships, farm and countryside.
The official route begins and ends at Burgdorf, a famous asparagus village, although Hanover is the nearest town (about half an hour drive from Hanover). Then there are trips traced by traced the plant from roots to tips – with Lüneburg Heath (pictured) among its gorgeous locations where it grows.
Berlin to Leipzig
The Avenues route has a slow, scenic backroad which stretches for over 2,000 miles from the sea to the shore of Lake Constance. This section of the road runs through the most beautiful parts of central Germany for about 550km (1 046 km) of green avenue. The route takes off from Dessau, an hour southwest of Berlin, and loops through the Harz mountains.
Stuttgart to Villingen-Schwenningen
It takes about 1.5 hours from Stuttgart, the nearest big city to the charming journey, to the official start and finish of the loop VillingenSchwenningen. The clock route covers approximately 220 miles of Black Forest and has a reputation for its history of elaborate clockmaking including clocks from the 17th century.

Munich to Lindau
Alpine routes or Alpenstraßes are considered among the world's most breathtaking drives carving and curves through the Bavarian Alpen and providing spectacular landscapes. The approximately 283-mile (284-kilometer) journey from Munich to Lindau via the spectacular mountain town of Berchtesgasden (pictured) includes some of its best attractions. It combines several dream-filled spa cities and chocolate village towns like Obermergau.
